Who has pets? We Do!

If you have pets, you know the headache of trying to keep up with washing all the dog blankets and bedding to keep their smells at bay, but when you have to chuck all your cushion covers and sofa blankies into the wash once a week or more due to the fur babies running through the mud and traipsing it all over the place, or slobbering all over the pillows and sofa, the smell can be quite in your face, quite quickly! I have a sensitive nose to certain pongs!

Whilst doing some research, I discovered the magic of sodium bicarbonate. An amazing and magical cleaning product, not to mention its also used for health benefits.

After some trials and lots of testing we formulated a deodorizer spray which we have been using regularly in different varying formulations and found one that has worked the best for us and our 8 paws! Most importantly it had to be SAFE FOR EVERYONE!

I did a test on 3 of the stinkiest doggy blankets we have at work and we left them outside for them to roll around in and toss about as dogs do, I didn't wash them for a few months - YES I KNOW! It sounds disgusting ~ AND IT WAS!

Stained in all kinds of things I dare not think about, dog slobber, dirty from mud and grime from the outside and the pong of smelly dog.

The smell test was horrendous but after a good spray down of our experimental concoction, the other half and I were quite surprised at how quickly the "Eau De Doggo" worked its magic! I bundled up the blankets to take them home to wash and because they didn't stink to high heaven we totally forgot they were in the car with us!

I left them in the laundry overnight crossing fingers and toes that the smell wouldn't punch me in the face when I walked into the laundry the next morning and to my surprise, there was barely a hint of GROSS. A little bit of dog but nothing compared to what it was. We finally found the perfect formulation and I added a refreshing peppermint essential oil to it.

We also made up a lemon fragrance for those who don't have pets and love a citrus hit in the air. Fragrance free is also available at the store.

The scent is not long lasting but its not an air freshener, whats important is that the deodorizing factor works. So far for us its been pretty good! I have been regularly using it on my sofa, cushions, carpets and areas that our youngest pup has had accidents just to make sure they don't go back to the same spot or start marking.

 So far so good!
