Bumps & Bruises BE GONE!

Bumps & Bruises BE GONE!

Knuckle Buster Haematoma!

I managed to give myself a heamatoma on my pinkie knuckle last week, what a corker! and the pain post hitting it felt worse than the initial 'tap' on the hand!!

If anyone has gotten bumps and bruises you'll know how painful and annoying they can be.

It was just my luck ~ I've had friends and family tell me how well the arnica cream has worked for them but I never had the opportunity, personally, to document and show the results. Now I can do a show and tell for you.

I had just finished potting up my arnica cream, so I had plenty to spare in the container I made it in. Dabbed a bit onto my swollen, deformed looking knuckle and thought It would be a good opportunity to document the time it would take to bring down the swelling and also how long it would take to see the bruising fade.

Day 1 - Rapped over the knuckles!

Well more like one knuckle. I have no idea how I managed to do this to myself, but it happened. I most likely bumped the back of my hand on the work bench when I was finishing up potting my arnica cream.

Talk about timing!

Within 5 mins or so I felt the tingle and burning which made me look at it. It didn't look too bad so I carried on with what I was doing.

Probably about 10 minutes or so later the burning and tingling sensation became somewhat worse where I really noticed it. When I couldn't make a fist or type, I had another glance at my hand and it looked to be growing a second knuckle on top of itself. Not pleasant!! and now quite painful. I noticed the purple and red of the build up of blood beneath the skin had completely covered the entire knuckle and surrounds of the edge of my hand. It was a heamatoma. I've had a few of these quite a few times and they can be so painful to deal with especially if you don't have an ice pack on hand - like in this case.

Day 2 - About 15 hours later

Its still pretty red and blue but the swelling has come right down over night. Some annoying pain when touched but not as bad as the day before. I applied cream again before bed and once more in the morning and left it on with out washing my hands for a couple of hours. If you're like me and constantly doing things and having to get your hands wet from cleaning up then you may need to apply more regularly.

If you can avoid washing your hands frequently, give it a good few hours or 1 hour minimum before you need to wash your hands to avoid washing off the cream. Reapply when you can or when you remember! haha!

In my case I applied 3 times a day on this day. Not as many times as I would have liked, I get too busy to think!

Day 3 - About 28 hours later

I was quite surprised at how quickly the bruising was improving and not looking as dark. Pain was pretty much non existent unless you give it a good poke. I applied cream only once this day. I basically forgot to apply until bed time. Oops!

So far so good I think!

Day 4 - What heamatoma??

Again, one application before bed. You can barely see the bruise and there's nothing but a dull 'meh' of a pain and I had to press quite hard to notice anything. Colouring seems to be back to normal with a slight pink, like I rubbed my skin too hard. It looks like I might not get that dreaded green tinge you see at the tail end of the healing process. BONUS!

One thing I realized, I still have bruises on my legs from bumps and bangs after 4 weeks - No cream vs 4 days with the arnica cream.

My Mothers experience

My elderly mum had a terrible fall some months ago and sliced open her arm requiring 13 stitches, which bruised up almost the whole length of her forearm. I sent her some arnica cream which she started using about two weeks after her fall and after the cut skin had healed together and stitches were removed. She told me the black and red marks of her bruising started to fade within a few days when prior to this, her arm looked like you can only imagine when older people badly bruise up. Red, black, blue and green all over for the two weeks before she started using the cream.

Thin skin can bruise so easily, and the healing process can take a lot longer than normal, even when holding her arms to help her with her balance can leave bruising on her. She swears by it now and uses it regularly for all the little bruises that come up. I wish I had photos to show the before and after but alas, my parents aren't too tech savvy.

If you have been using the Eden Skin Arnica Bump Cream, do let me know what your experience was with it. I'd love your feedback, good or bad.

How much I apply to my bruised knuckle.

Hi, I just wanted to leave some feedback about my use of the Bump Cream. I initially bought the cream for my mother who had a fall and like your mum, injured her arm and she used your cream on her arm and it seemed to help the healing of the bruising quite quickly. We didn’t think it would work as good as you showed in your experience, if anything it would just help with moisturizing her skin. I was wrong! It has worked better than we thought and now our whole house uses it when ever we need it. I purchased the fragrance free and now just got the lavender version. Love this cream! Its gentle and has lasted a very long time. ~ Thank you!!
